The minimal effort makeup look

I love makeup! But, I don’t wear it too often. I really enjoy putting it on when I have the time and want to put in that effort, for me putting on makeup is fun and shouldn’t be a chore.

I love being natural and prefer working on my skin rather than putting on makeup everyday. Its a time consuming process and honestly, I don’t like too many chemicals on my skin. Besides that there’s always that much effort that goes into taking the makeup off. And I am very particular about taking my makeup off.

On an everyday basis, I don’t wear makeup. Nada, not even kohl and it’s a practice I have followed since the time I was introduced to makeup! But, the days I want to look put together and it is well, a chore, and I don’t have the time or the energy for an elaborate look, I do this…

1. Mix my moisturiser with a little bit of foundation and blend it really well into my skin with my fingers.

2. Do my eyebrows with the Benefit Browzing and a clean Maybelline mascara wand! Nothing can be quicker, I assure you.

3. Tight line my eyes with a kohl pencil. Since it’s the waterline I prefer using more natural alternatives, Plum Angel Eyes kajal claims to be 100% natural but it’s not smudge proof. MAC gel twist up in Squid is also something that I use at times, it’s a newer addition to my makeup kit, however I am not that impressed with it. I somehow am not very comfortable using the pot gel liners inside my eyes. I have tried MAC, Bobbi Brown and Kryolan but still there’s something iffy about using it inside my eyes.

4. Lip balm/lip tint/lipstick whatever the outfit/occasion demands. I love the chubby sticks from Clinique but they don’t have the staying power. If stay is what you are aiming, then try lip pencils. A pretty neutral like MAC spice is perfect.

  1. I’m the same way, I LOVE makeup, but I rarely take the time to do it. I’m going to try mixing foundation with moisturizer, I’ve never done that. And I LOVE that benefit brow box. It’s am essential.
